Mount Tabor Lutheran Church was organized on August 3, 1856 and has remained apart of a multiply church and congregation charge with St. Paul's Lutheran in Clear Spring, MD.
The first building was constructed in Fairview on a site deeded from the widow and heirs of John Fiery. It was of a simple brick design. In 1908 two more parcels of land were annexed and a new building was built on the original site and still services its congregation today.
